Admissions Policy

As an Ofsted registered Childminder I am restricted to the number and ages of children that I can care for at any one time. I will care for no more than six children at a time under the age of eight, of these no more than three in the Early Years age group, of these three no more than one under one year.

I am happy to take on any baby/child within my registered numbers and will not discriminate against children or their families for reasons such as race, religion, sex or ability. However I would like to make the following statements:

I already drop off/collect children from St Michaels School and therefore am unable to collect children from any other school.

I am happy to take on children with special needs providing I feel I can provide them with the care they need (For example I will not be able to provide one to one care or look after a child in a wheelchair, as my home is not suitable). If your child has additional needs please discuss them with me first as I would not want to raise your expectations.

All children will be welcomed into my home and I will encourage the other children in my care to support me with this. I will request a four-week settling in period on our contract, so if you or your child or I am not happy with the arrangement it can be terminated easily. When taking on additional children I must take into consideration the children already in my care who are happy and settled. It would be very unfair on them to introduce a child who was disruptive.

I would be grateful if you could ensure that you are prompt in paying your monthly or weekly invoice. If I have not received payment within seven days of the due date, I will issue you with a polite reminder. If I have still not received payment by the 10th day following the original invoice, I reserve the right to make an additional charge 'Late Payment Fee' of £5 per day to cover any bank charges I may have incurred. If, at this point, I have still not received payment, I reserve the right to cease minding your child with immediate effect and seek legal advice from my Solicitor. This may result in you being summoned to attend a hearing at County Court and if the judge finds in my favour, you will also be liable to the Court for costs.

If you have any concerns regarding my admissions policy please do not hesitate to contact me.
